A besom is a tool used in Wicca to cleanse and purify a space which will be used for ritual. A traditional Wiccan besom is a hawthorn stave handle with bristles made from birch twigs. These twigs are tied on using thin pieces of willow wood. Another historical plant used was 'brush corn'.
For modern witches, some uses are recorded as banishing negative energies, protection against nightmares, protection from bad energy and spells, channeling energy, and opening communication with the departed.
Black Kyanite is a powerful tool for self discovery. Black Kyanite is also known as ‘witches broom’ as it sweeps all of the negative energy and debris. It reveals hidden talents, and clears the way towards the destined path. Great for spiritual work; it brings clarity and awareness to the mind, making it a great conduit to reach high levels of consciousness and open the mind to receiving divine messages. It works as an energetic shield, transmuting any negative energy into positive. It is a great stone for healers, shamans, and anyone working to discover their destiny or the destiny of others.
